How Sting Gloves Are Built

Competition Weight Accuracy

As an official World Boxing supplier, Sting manufactures their Competition Approved models to strict weight tolerances. A glove that is over-weight at the pre-bout inspection is a problem. Sting's manufacturing process is designed to reduce that risk by keeping competition gloves within tight weight tolerances.

Balanced Weight Distribution

Front-heavy gloves drag the hands down late in a round. Sting distributes the weight evenly across the hand and wrist. The hands stay up. Technique stays clean.

Armalite Hi Flow Core Padding

The padding is the product. Armalite's Hi Flow Core provides a soft, forgiving impact zone that absorbs shock without feeling dense against a sparring partner. Fit and feel: soft and accommodating. Built for the amateur circuit and the volume of sparring that comes with it.

Sting Sparring Glove Weight Guide

For adult sparring, aged 14 and over, 16oz is standard below 90kg and 18oz is standard at 90kg or above. Use 14oz only if you are under 65kg and your coach or gym permits it. Coach or gym rules still apply. Armalite and Evolution stop at 16oz in this range. If you need 18oz, compare the wider sparring glove collection.
