Product questions
What does BBBofC approved mean?
It means the glove meets the specification required by the British Boxing Board of Control for use in professional contests sanctioned under their rules. The BBBofC sets the glove standard for licensed professional boxing in the UK, and the Falcon is built to that standard.
What weight do professional boxers use?
Professional contest weights are set by the governing body and depend on the weight class. 8oz is used in lower divisions and 10oz in higher divisions. Your promoter or commission will confirm the required weight for your bout.
Why do professional contest gloves use lace-up closures?
Lace-up closures are required for professional contests because they allow the glove to be fitted precisely to the boxer's hand and wrist, then sealed and inspected by the official before the bout. This ensures a consistent, tamper-evident fit that hook and loop closures cannot provide.
