The RS100 sits above the RS80V in Rival's sparring range. It uses Rival's Super Rich Microfibre shell and a deeper, more refined multi-layer foam system, giving you more padding volume and a higher level of finish. The RS80V is still an excellent sparring glove; the RS100 is the top-tier option.
Why is the RS100 only available in 14oz and 16oz? +
This glove is built purely for sparring, not bag work or general training. Lighter weights do not provide enough padding for safe partner work, so Rival only produces it in the weights that make sense for its intended use.
Are these gloves suitable for daily sparring? +
Yes. The Super Rich Microfibre and premium foam system are built to hold up under regular high-volume sparring. As a weight guide: under 65kg can use 14oz depending on your coach, and over 65kg should be in 16oz.
