Are the Velcro sparring gloves the same quality as the lace-up version? +
Yes. They are built in the same Mexican workshop using the same cowhide leather and foam padding. The only real difference is the closure system.
What weight should I choose for sparring? +
Under 65kg, 14oz is usually fine but check with your coach. Over 65kg, go 16oz. For 90kg and above, 18oz is recommended. Always confirm with your coach and gym.
How long do Cleto Reyes gloves last? +
With regular sparring two or three times a week, expect several years of use if you look after them. Air them out after every session, never leave them in your bag wet, and wipe the leather down. The cowhide leather is built to last through years of hard training.
