What weight should I choose for sparring?
As a general guide: under 65kg use 14oz (check with your coach), and over 65kg use 16oz. Many clubs require 16oz for all sparring regardless of weight, so always check your gym's rules first.
How do these compare to Pro Box's leather sparring gloves?
The Champ Spar uses synthetic leather rather than full leather, which brings the price down significantly. The padding structure is similar, but leather gloves break in differently and tend to last longer under heavy use. For boxers training a couple of times a week, the Champ Spar does the job.
