Are the Armalite gloves suitable for sparring?
They will handle light technical sparring in 16oz, but they are primarily a bag and pad glove. If sparring is your main focus, a dedicated sparring glove with softer padding is the better choice.
What weight should I choose for pad work?
As a general guide: under 65kg go 14oz (coach dependent), over 65kg go 16oz. Heavier gloves build conditioning, lighter gloves let you work speed and sharpness. Always check with your coach.
How do these compare to STING's competition gloves?
The Armalite uses the same construction standards but is built for gym mileage rather than the ring. Competition gloves use premium leather and a fight-specific padding profile, where the Armalite prioritises durability and value for daily training.
